About Red Bird Retreats

Fairfax, Virginia Wellness Retreats Led by Licensed Facilitators

Connection, Expression, Movement, and Mindfulness

At Red Bird Retreats, we believe true wellness is rooted in four pillars: connection, expression, movement, and mindfulness.

Led by a trauma-informed licensed therapist facilitator, J. Alexandra Herrera, our community events and custom wellness retreats are thoughtfully designed to help you and your retreat group reconnect with yourself and one another, express artistic creativity, explore gentle movement for stress relief, and create mindful, restorative self-care rituals.

By weaving these elements together, we create a supportive space to check in with your mental health, feel more grounded, and discover new ways to care for yourself. From 1-hour community yoga and sound bath sessions to full-day corporate retreats, each experience is designed to broaden your perspective, introduce you to new wellness modalities, and leave you feeling relaxed, renewed, and more connected.

J. Alexandra Herrera

Red Bird Retreats is led by J. Alexandra Herrera, an artist, athlete, healer, leader, and therapist who passionately believes in the connection between the mind and body.

Alexandra has been in the mental health field for over 20 years and is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist who also holds certifications in Reiki Energy Healing, Sound Healing, Restorative Yoga, and The MARI Assessment.

When she isn't offering trauma-informed therapy services or leading a yoga class, she can be found playing in the dirt, exploring in the wilderness, running obstacle races, playing with her dogs, searching for a sense of awe, planning a new adventure, dabbling in the metaphysical, and spending time with her friends and family.
